twentytwentyone collection

A special homewares collection was designed by Ella Doran, based around images by photographer Mark Whitfield of ‘the twentytwentyone collection’ of iconic vintage chairs, dating from the 1930s to the present day and collected, archived and catalogued by twentytwentyone founders Simon Alderson and Tony Cunningham.

The chairs represent the founders’ depth of interest in and passion for twentieth century and contemporary design in the form of the chair, which they say is ‘symbolic of a designer’s creativity, their use of technologies, materials and form’. The collection also cements the longstanding retail partnership between the two parties.

Ella’s distinctive eye for pattern and arrangement has transformed the furniture into something closer to a textile print’
(Simon Alderson, twentytwentyone).

Alexandra Lunn

I used to roam around my dad’s wood workshop in West Yorkshire, terrorising his colleagues and making wooden sculptures. I’d accompany him to the demolition sites of the old mills of Manchester and Leeds that were being pulled down; everything within the mills was meant to be burnt, however, he’d salvage wood, bobbins, and cast iron objects and use the materials to make floors and furniture out of the reclaimed timber and other items. The idea that you could make something out of nothing interested me.

I work with developers, designers, and other creatives to create stand-out visual identities, websites, and marketing.
